How It Works

We are a predominately online based law firm but are easily able to host in person consultations in the Northern Suburbs, Western Cape. Contact us with a brief summary of your query so that we may determine how we can assist you best.
If the matter can be handled via email we will provide you with the estimated costs and begin working on it upon receipt of a deposit.
Alternatively we can setup a consultation, either in person or virtually to determine how best to assist you and answer any questions you might have for us.
ANTENUPTIAL CONTRACTS
Generally, 1 – 2 consultations are required. The first consultation is to explain the different regimes and determine which regime best suits you as a couple. The second consultation is for you both to sign the contract. If you already know what regime you want to apply to your marriage we do not need to have the first consultation but can handle everything via email. We will then only meet to sign the contract.
ADMINISTRATION OF A DECEASED ESTATE
After we receive an instruction to proceed with the administration of a family member’s deceased estate we will provide you with a checklist of all the documentation we need from you. Thereafter will meet to sign all the required documentation.
BUYING OR SELLING A PROPERTY

We handle all the documentation related to the sale of your property and will handle the transfer of the property with the Deeds office.

AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTATION

A detailed description of the documentation that must be authenticated is provided to us to prepare the authentication certificate. Thereafter a consultation will be setup in which you will bring all the documentation required for authentication, the certificate will then be attached to the documents once authenticated.

Antenuptial Contracts

The least exciting part of your wedding planning but the most crucial part – the antenuptial contract. Gone are the days of the stigma surrounding “pre nups”; an antenuptial contract is there to protect the assets belonging to you and your soon-to-be-spouse from each other’s creditors and allows you to manage and deal with your estate independently of one another while still having the option to be able to share in the growth of your estates from when you tied the knot.

Thompson Attorneys are here to guide and assist you in reaching the perfect agreement to manage your individual estates; their aim is to walk you through the process, making it as effortless and stress free as possible ensuring that your contract meets your unique needs as a couple and as individuals.
